a smile permeates me
through and through
making me lighthearted
sick-bellied
and my heart beat ten times harder
a river runs through me
blinding my eyes so that everything is smile-tinted
a drowning flood without a shred of fear
sadness pulls me back
for i'm not yet an experienced smile-surfer
and too easily do i retreat to the dull
the sameness of the physical life
desperately i seek another source
some way
not to undo my return to bland
but to take me back to my wave
my saturating smile
a smile permeates me
through and through
i never wonder why
such an overcoming, new emotion
doesn't scare me at all
