The air is silent
My heart beats slow
I stand here, tall and strong
Yet dissatisfied
A hunger whose demands have quieted to a dull rumble
A nose actively sniffs for any hint of change
In the silent winds
My heart beats slow
And I submerge.

My feelings will find her
Love exists on a plane where physical distance holds no more meaning than we give it
But she is far from my heart
We have met in passing
In the gentle womb of my mind
Alas, my faith in this communication is weak
And I do not know how to find her again

My head bobs above once again
The waters fall back from my astral body
As the tendrils unwrap
Exposing me to the world
To anyone crafty enough to penetrate the skin
Without alerting me to danger
Causing the tendrils to wrap me tightly again
Protecting me from the slings and arrows
Of the ignorant and arrogant
And those who simply don't care

She is out there as well
The wonderful oblivious unknown
She is many deaths and rebirths away
Until the giant I am
Becomes an Atlas
And this heart and mind has endured and passed the rigors
Prescribed by the soul
In preparation to finally meet
My lady of dreams.
